The Unit Breed Trabant Love Songs Pink Black Power Struggle

Zine:

It's sort of exciting, I ran out of Jack Acid inserts. I mean, I lost several hundred during my moves over the last 10 years, but some people seem to want to buy that CD. Thanks! I still have 100 CDs, but no covers.

I'm in a new band, The Keeners. It's great to be playing music, but we're all old now, so don't expect any tours any time soon.

Razorcake is great. They published a story of mine a few issues back. I'm sure you know about it, but if you've never picked up an issue, get one!

Earn It Yourself! There's a new website in town, that I've made with some friends. It has some of the features of this site (calendar, articles) combined with parts of BYOFL (band listings) plus some new really cool features, includeing a show trade tool that I think is one of the only ones out there meant to connect underground bands with one another. Check out the Beta site! EarnItYourself.com

Like celebrities? So do I. Check out my new site: Celebrifi.com Lots of crazy people!

Music:
The Unit Breed
Lost Eyes CD / DVD
Lost Eyes is a double disc CD / DVD extravaganza. This is the 5th album by The Unit Breed, and it showcases the bizarre brilliance of the band. "Lost Eyes" is 55 minutes of unsettling, dark music. The DVD contains a movie version of the CD. It's a work of unacknowledged genius, and has moments reminiscent of Sonic Youth or Fugazi, but remains unique and uncategorizable.

Trabant
Young, Reckless and Debonaire
Stripped down punk rock, conceived and recorded in the dark crannies of rural exile. Fast, cheap and out of control. The CD comes with videos and a diy guide to making CDs.

Self Hate - At The Beginning..
Just in from Poland! Here you go: see, there's this guy, and he has, like, 15 crate half stacks turned to the 'face-melt' setting, and they're all recorded with all the treble turned off. Then, he makes friends with some sort of mountain troll, who growls angry things. The insert seems to indicate that he's growling the angry things in Polish, but I say, 'prove it.' Then, there's this sort of Easy-E of the death-metal set, who screams angry things, but he sounds sort of like the mogwai in gremlins after they go bad. All of this is coupled with one incredibly spastic drummer who may be playing along to a totally different band who are playing faster things. Who knows, he could be some sort of very angry mountain badger. Perhaps I'm not the best person to be reviewing this sort of stuff, but I think it's a good description. Apparently all popular music in Poland is like this, so you should buy it.

Better Off Dead - Face Down
For this release, HCNL records goes back to its punk-rock roots with Better Off Dead. Melodic hardcore-influenced punk rock with a tinge of the old school. Songs about fading scene unity, lost friends, and nostalgia for better days. For fans of Propagandhi, Naked Raygun, Good Riddance, etc.
